Now you are ready to create your first visualization. Since Metopio is focused on geographically linked data, a great place to start is making a map! Hover over Create Visualization in the left menu and click Map

The tool will walk you through selecting your geography, data topics and customizations

Choose a Place

Search for the place you are interested in. You can search for zip codes, cities, counties, etc. You can also update the state at the bottom of the page.

Select a Map Layer

The Map Layer is the level that you want to analyze. The most granular geography is the census tract and the largest is states.

Select a Topic

Click Topic to select from the hundreds of topics curated for you.

Search Topics: Type in key words related to the topic you are interested to see what is available in the geography you have selected.
Browse by Topic Category: You can also browse topics by clicking into each category

Select Map Options

Click Options, to go to the final step containing additional options to choose from.

Edit Map Colors

You have the option to edit your map background and colors

Finalize and Save

When you are happy with your map, click Finish. Click the Save icon to save your map in the workspace. You can also share a link to this insight or download a copy. Congratulations on creating your first map!
